Grassroots Advocacy
12/2/2023

The last blended session started with a short sharing of the participants' and speakers’ wishes for Christmas. Mr. Jose Marie Eslopor, University Extension Specialist I from the University of Visayas, spearheaded the talk on How to Run Advocacy Campaigns. The talk focused on running advocacies through the lens of community-based and grassroots approaches. Mr. Eslopor highlighted his past experiences in running campaigns and encouraged the participants to have a systematic approach to build a connection to the communities they would like to work with. Finally, the session ended with a discussion on earth optimism in reference to the book “Factfulness” by Hans Rosling, Ola Rosling and Anna Rosling Rönnlund.
After a short health break, the session continued with a talk with Mr. Nikko Adrian Perez about the Well-Being of a Changemaker. The talk highlighted personal struggles and triumphs to achieve self-overcoming, resilience, and integration of one’s personality.
